For this event we have the pleasure to recieve the chilien artist Javier Mansilla and his Rubbish bag works exhibition. Rubbish Bag Works started as a street art project where Javier painted smile faces on full rubbish bags at night in the streets. Keeping the intention to find a place between painting and sculpture, it came out that painting on any surface but proper canvas, was a way to get some non illusionary volume. To paint in a surface which came with a history of use, add more layers to a paintig.
BIOGRAPHIE Javier Mansilla (Santiago, Chile.1984) Visual artist and drummer. He uses painting as main media to think and reflect about diverse problems related to everyday life as: love dramas, pop culture, ecology, even painting itself, wherehe push painting towards a three dimensional stage. <<< back
